SightLife Montana Recovery Technician Carla Anguiano

Carla Anguiano

Montana Recovery Technician

Carla Anguiano is a Montana native and is trained as an EMT, Certified Medical Assistant, and Phlebotomist. In addition to her work recovering corneas for SightLife, Carla works for St. Vincent Healthcare and Billings Clinic Medflight.

Carla is married and has three adult children (one son and two daughters). Her hobbies include international travel, camping, hiking, sewing, music, and spending time with her grandson.

SightLife Montana Recovery Technician Michael Casey

Michael Casey

Montana Recovery Technician

Michael Casey (call him "Casey") grew up in Billings, Montana. He is a trained paramedic and is working on his Associates Degree in Nursing.

Casey spent twenty years as a critical care flight paramedic and started working in eye banking in 1988 by performing whole globe excisions. In addition to his recovery duties with SightLife, he works in the Billings Clinic Emergency Room, studies for his nursing degree, and serves as a Critical Care Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (CCEMT-P) for Bighorn County Ambulance. Casey has received an Assoc Students Eastern Montana College (ASEMC) scholarship, was a national flight paramedic runner-up, and is a critical care paramedic certified instructor/faculty in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).

Casey's wife, Sheryl, also works in the medical field. They have two daughters, one of whom is about to start college. For fun, he enjoys fly fishing, golf, hunting, camping, taekwondo, and riding his motorcyle.

"I really believe in the mission of the eye bank," Casey says. "My brother is a bone marrow transplant patient, and one day he may need or benefit from what I do for the eye bank. That means a lot to me, that chance to recover tissue that benefits someone."

SightLife Montana Recovery Technician Kathy Dixon

Kathy Dixon

Montana Recovery Technician

Montana's Kathy Dixon grew up in Fort Scott, Kansas. Prior to joining SightLife, Kathy worked for Deaconess Hospital in the Emergency Department and Operating Room as an EMT and a medical technician.

Kathy and her husband have three children and six grandchildren. She enjoys making porcelain dolls, camping, bowling, and spending time iwht her grandkids.

Kathy is proud to be able to give the best quality of life to people by helping give the gift of sight through recovering corneas for transplant.

SightLife Montana Recovery Technician Debra Gilbert

Debra Gilbert

Montana Recovery Technician

Debra Gilbert grew up in Roundup, Montana. She spent 17 years as a Sidney Health Center employee in the Emergency Medical Services department and part time director of Ambulance Service. She is a CPR Instructor and State Certified EMS Lead Instructor and served as an elected City Official on the City Council Ward II for 5-1/2 years. In addition to her responsibilities as a SightLife recovery technician in eastern Montana, Debra currently manages an elderly/disabled HUD subsidized apartment complex with 71 units. She is the proud recipient of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary EMT of the Year Award.

Debra has been married to her husband, Rob, for thirty years. They have one son. She says, "Growing up in rural Montana limits your resources, and since I married very young, every accomplishment came through hard work and dedication and commitment to my family, job, career, and giving back to my community through volunteering."

To relax from all her work and volunteering, Debra likes to go camping, ride her four-wheeler and scooter, play golf, and go swimming. She lets out her artistic side by making projects out of stained glass.

SightLife Montana Recovery Technician Shawn Englert

Shawn Englert

Montana Recovery Technician

Shawn Englert started life in Las Vegas and graduated from California State University in Sacramento with a degree in Behavioral Sciences before moving to Montana. She is also a retired police officer.

Shawn has a love for horses and not only rides but even trains them. She also enjoys sculpting and working with stained glass.

Heather Brunner

Montana Recovery Technician

Heather Brunner is a native of Florence, Montana, and has worked as a healthcare assistant and certified pharmacy technician. Her plans for the future include becoming a nurse.

For fun, Heather enjoys motocross and spending time outdoors.

Celia Grohmann

Montana Recovery Technician

Celia Grohmann grew up in northwestern New Jersey close to Manhatten. She has a broad range of experience running from manufacturing to real estate to publishing an Earth Sciences magazine. She also worked for the New Jersey Commission for the Blind.

Celia is a founding member of the Stevensville Art & Sculpture Society of Stevensville, Montana. In addition to her other pursuits, she also likes to spend time kayaking, hiking, rock hounding, and traveling.

Ron Boswell, SightLife Montana Recovery Technician

Ron Boswell

Montana Recovery Technician

Ron Boswell is a native of South Carolina and now lives in Helena, Montana. While in South Carolina, he served as a Deputy Coroner and retired as a State Trooper. He was also a manager for Big Sky Airlines and founded Big Sky Search Dogs.

Ron likes to do anything outdoors – fishing, hunting, cycling, and snowmobiling – and still works and trains his German Shepherd for search and rescue. To balance his activities, he recently started yoga, too.
