Ameer Ballout

Western Washington Recovery Technician

Ameer Ballout grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and graduated from Shoreline Community College here in the Seattle area. He is working on a degree at the University of Washington.

Apart from recovering corneas for transplant and studying for classes, Ameer enjoys playing basketball and watching movies.

Christina Shadle, SightLife Recovery Technician

Christina Shadle

Western Washington Recovery Technician

Christina Shadle, who spent her formative years in North Carolina, California, and Japan, recently graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Cellular, Molecular, & Developmental Biology. Prior to joining the Foundation staff, she worked for the Institute for Systems Biology. Additionally, she received recognition as a Washington Achievers Scholar.

Christina enjoys hiking and camping and is currently taking lessons to earn her private pilot's license.

Myrna Cricket Craig, SightLife Recovery Technician

Myrna "Cricket" Craig

Western Washington Recovery Technician

Myrna Craig, who goes by "Cricket," grew up in Aruba and the US Virgin Islands. Her medical experience includes working as an echocardiologist for the Heart Institute at JFK Medical Center and as a flight medic for the Department of Health in the Virgin Islands.

Cricket is married. She enjoys poetry and writing, playing racketball, running, swimming, and painting. She says she's "glad to be onboard…to give the gift of sight!"

Ryan Hoff is a native of Vancouver, Washington. His background includes tutoring biology and chemistry.

Ryan spends his spare time with music, running, and hiking.

Ashley Aratani grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Physiology. She enjoys snowboarding, surfing, and playing volleyball.
