Though all surgeries and all patients are unique, our research, testing, and validation indicate that IntraLase Enabled Keratoplasty™ with our Custom Corneal Tissue may promote these improved results over traditional cornea surgery:
- May provide faster return to vision after surgery for your patient. The specialized corneal graft shapes that we prepare to match your precise recipient shapes may require fewer sutures and enable faster healing.
- SightLife donor tissue preparation eliminates surgeon's risk of damaging donor tissue during preparation.
- May dramatically reduce post-surgical astigmatism. Precision fit donor buttons and less suture tension can allow smoother corneal surface.

What is Custom Corneal Tissue & IntraLase Enabled Keratoplasty?
SightLife has been working since 2005 to develop eye bank protocols for the precision preparation of corneal tissue. This tissue SightLife distributes is known as Custom Corneal Tissue. This "notched" tissue enables much faster return to vision for the patient and has shown to reduce the amount of astigmatism.
SightLife and IntraLase have developed the methodology to precision cut corneas to deal with a variety of corneal injuries and diseases. The tissue will be custom prepared at SightLife's laboratories to meet the specific needs of patients.
Custom Corneal Tissue can be prepared in a variety of sizes and configurations based upon the requesting corneal surgeon's specifications. All tissue is processed to exacting standards set by SightLife and within regulations established by the FDA and the Eye Bank Association of America.
