SightLife research partnerships advance sight restoration/cornea technology
SightLife is an active research partner with several domestic and foreign universities and biotechnology corporations. We are a core member of the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association, as well as the Vision Share Eye Bank Consortium. Through research partnerships, we seek to improve outcomes for cornea transplant recipients and/or make transplants available to more people in more countries. Current research projects include:
- IntraLase Enabled Keratoplasty. Custom Cornea Tissue (CCT) prepared with an IntraLase femtosecond laser is already available from SightLife, but this may be just the beginning for this advance in cornea transplant technology. SightLife and IntraLase are now working on additional uses for the femtosecond laser tailored to specific needs of cornea transplant surgeons.
